New Hope posseses a rich and varied history. Originally settled by the Lenni-Lenape Indians, followed by the English and Dutch and eventually Quaker settlements, New Hope has always been a community that celebrates diversity. The New Hope Historical Society is a terrific resource for local history buffs, or for those just visiting and looking for a taste of the area's storied past. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2008, the Historical Society remains an active organization vital to the preservation of New Hope's history.
